Trout

The other day I decided to make fish for supper which happened to be trout that was caught in our own creek. I baked it in the oven with a few different seasonings.  I got the recipe from one of my favorite websites which is allrecipes.com.  Everyone loved it, even Virginia although she'll never admit it.  I also made rice (from a box) freshly cut asparagus, and cheese biscuits that are better than Red Lobster's (also from allrecipes).

The fish is garnished with parsley from my newly started herb garden which I hope to be using regularly pretty soon, however I do need to learn how to photograph food a little better.  Hopefully someone will try this recipe and enjoy it just as much as I did.

Cream Puffs

The other day I was looking through an old cookbook and I came across a recipe for Cream Puffs.  I enjoy making desserts and pastries so I thought I'd give this one a try.

They turned out very good but oddly shaped.  I decided to fill it with sliced strawberries and marshmallow cream with some chocolate syrup on the outside.  It only took about 10 minutes to prepare and 30-40 to bake.  All in all a very successful recipe.

1/2 cup butter or margarine
1 cup boiling water
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 eggs

1. Boil water and then melt butter in it.
2. Once the butter is melted put in flour and salt.
3. Stir constantly until the mixture comes off the sides and forms a ball.
4. Remove from heat.
5. Blend in eggs one at a times, beat vigorously after each until mixture is smooth.
6. Put on a cookie sheet and bake at 425 for about 30 minutes or until golden brown.
7. Turn oven off, prick puff with a knife and put back into the over for 20 minutes to dry out the center.
8. Let cool and then fill it with whatever you desire!

Snow Day

Above is a view from the front door.

Today is another snow day. I don't know when we'll get out of school for the summer now. If you can see in the second picture it's snowing now so it wouldn't surprise me if we were out tomorrow too.

Good Days

This is Pep and she's a little dirty because I haven't ridden her since Feb.
This is my steer.
Yesterday was a pretty interesting day.  It was quite warm and I led my steer and heifer which don't have names.  I also took a picture of Pep but I didn't do anything with her.  Also the only goats that actually follow me are Pat and the other one.
One last thing I would like to know who gamester is so could you leave your name or hint of who you are on your next comment please. :)

P.S. I won't be posting until tuesday because I'll be going to G's house.

More goat stands

Going back to the comments I had last time, yes it was a pile of wood but not random to me, C.  And M, this is an outside goat stand and it is just a random pile of wood that the fence builders threw out here.
Also, I think you would like to know that my bottle fed goats are doing good and Rocky looks like a mutant goat because he's so big.

Hearts and goat stands

As you can see if you look at this goat from an angle it looks like it has a perfect heart on its               back. This one was for A.

I think M will be happy to hear that I finally made a version of a goat stand out of old unused wood and Pat won't get off of it.
Also, I took the picture of my braces with the close up thing on my camera.

Braces

As you can see they don't really stand out that much.  Tomorrow I will have something for A and M and I think you'll like it.

Tuesday, March 31

This is a picture of Squeaky, my very first bottle fed goat and now the mother of Rocky.
Here is a recent photo of Emma and if you look at the one last year you can see that she has gotten a lot bigger.
Also you all know that Cubby Cakes died but he wasn't old enough for me to like him that much and I got orange braces.

more goat troubles

Cubby cakes isn't doing to well right now and I think he might die within a matter of time so I
think I might just give him to the person who takes all the others.
Since there have been two other sick goats that have gotten better and now their orphans I have decided to take those in, the lighter one is Pat and the darker one is Squirt.
(I couldn't get a very good picture because Squirt kept moving)
It is going to be a hard job bottle feeding them though because I'm going to have to get up at 6:00 every morning to go feed them at the barn and then get ready for school.

Saturday, March 28

back again

These goats are some of Tickle's and I named them Tick and Tock.
I know you have all seen Cubby Cakes but you were lied to about him because I am going to keep him as a bottle fed goat.
This is a picture of v's goats and no i didn't place them that way.
